Thedbo Blues 2009 Highlights

The Foreday Riders are celebrating 40+ years and are known as the 'university of the Blues' due to the guitarists and vocalists who have grown and developed through them; e.g. The latest is Ray Beadle. There will be an assortment of these players going down and it will be a special show.
 
Mal Eastick is another mature-age player of high stature and is very popular.
 
James Southwell Band is returning due to popular request and is one of our best 'new crop' of blues guitarists.
 
Gail Page is a world class vocalist with an extraordinary voice.

Chase the Sun are superb players, they will be the surprise of the festival for many.
 
Joe Galea Band is another mature-age 'real' rockin'  blues band. Just wait till you catch these guys. I don't know whether you recall Max Merritt and the Meteors, well this band comprises some of those players and is tight as ....... with plenty of bang for the buck!
 

Some 20 bands are on the program and each play three or four gigs over the weekend. Guests have the opportunity to see them in public venues or in a more intimate dining environment at various restaurants in the village. Some bands rove around the Village Square, others play at Eagles Nest Restaurant at the top of the mountain and some play poolside at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel and in several of the village bars. On arrival in Thredbo, guests are encouraged to collect a final program from the festival ticket office.
